We at Ruby Jewel feel strongly about leaving as little “foot print” on this earth as we possibly can.
To us this means:
- Sourcing as much as we can locally, even when it's not the most cost effective alternative.
- Limiting our waste:
- We recycle all of the materials we use.
- We sell our broken cookie bags at the farmers market, use them for demos, or donate unusable cookies to our local food bank.
- We collect all non- perfect packaging from our suppliers to use for demos.
- Encouraging (and rewarding) our employees for riding their bikes to work.
- Calculating that each sandwich produced emits 3 times it’s weight of CO2 into our atmosphere. Ruby Jewel gladly purchases carbon offsets through carbonfund.org so we can proudly say we are a 100% carbon free business.
- Planning for the future, when our rail systems advance as our production facility is located literally “on the tracks” and hope to simply produce and ship (in an extremely fuel efficient way) by rail to all our customers across the country.
