When I heard some old college friends lived in this small town outside of Bozeman, I really had no idea how small. I literally felt like I was driving through an old Western movie stage set. It was a total trip. I found their house by going to the local saloon and asking the first guy I saw (who said you must be the ice cream lady) I had a great time with the Kelly family. They own a restaurant called Banditos http://www.banditosmontana.com/index.shtml
which is only opened 3 months of the year- from Memorial Day - Labor Day. It's a must if you happen to be in the area- I would even suggest driving a distance to check this place out. I was fortunate enough to have some of Amy's cookin' as a guest at their house!
While this isn't my best "food" shot, it was seriously some of the best fish tacos and beans I have ever had. It was topped off with a night of Zingo with Bo- their absolutely adorable son.
Here's the proof:
I loved their life, the views, the scenery, the horses, barn, dogs, garden, and newest addition- the Bees. I'll definitely be coming back through- I would like to be a matchmaker with Bo and Ellie. I also got a tour of everything Ruby. Ruby ridge, resevoir, river. Here is a pic of Ruby Stables:
I also got to visit with Chris Leonard- a dad himself. What a great place and chance to visit. I then headed off to Bozeman- I stopped at the brand new Huckleberry's, and the Bozeman Co-op. I hope they will both be carrying Ruby Jewel's soon.
